About 'Looking to the Future'

'Looking to the Future' is the name of the current phase of work on the reconfiguration of hospital services in Shrewsbury and Telford. This phase includes preparing the Outline Business Case and Full Business Case and takes us to full implementation in 2014.
What will happen when?
Below are the expected timescales for the project:
- 25 August 2011 - Outline Business Case submitted to the Trust Board for approval - Approved. View the Outlilne Business Case and all supporting information here
- 13 September 2011 - Outline Business Case submitted to the Primary Care Trust (PCT) Boards for approval - Approved
- 27 September 2011 - Outline Business Case submitted to the Strategic Health Authority Board for approval - Approved
- February 2012 - planning application for new Women and Children’s Unit submitted to local planning authority. View the plans here - Approved
- Spring 2012 - Full Business Case submitted to the Trust, PCT and Strategic Health Authority Boards for approval - The Summary Full Business Case was approved by the Trust Board on 16 April 2012. It will now be submitted to NHS Midlands and East for consideration at their Board meeting in May 2012.
- From Spring 2012 - begin to put changes in place, start building, training and moving services
- Summer 2014 - reconfigured services expected to be in place.

Keeping It In The County Consultation
The previous phase of this work was the 'Keeping It In The County' consultation on the future of hospital services in Shrewsbury and Telford. This took place between December 2010 and March 2011.
