Improving our travel and transport
Last updated 29 March 2012
During the Keeping It In The County consultation on the reconfiguration of our hospital services, people raised very real concerns about how they get to our hospitals and what happens when they get there.
At this time, we committed to developing a travel and transport plan by the summer of 2012. Work is well underway and we have been working with the West Midlands Ambulance Service and the Welsh Ambulance Service to improve emergency transfers now and in the future.
The travel and transport plan will also look at non-emergency travel to and from our hospitals. This will explore how we can improve our car parking facilities, provide transport between our two hospitals and, where possible, prevent people from coming to our hospitals by providing more care closer to home.
We want your views
To help us write the plan, we would like your views and experiences of travel and transport.
Therefore the Trust is holding three Travel and Transport Workshops so that we can gather your views and experiences of travel and transport. These are being held across Shropshire and Mid Wales on:
- 26 April 2012 at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital from 6.30-8.30pm
- 9 May 2012 in Newtown from 6.30-8.30pm
- 15 May 2012 at the Princess Royal Hospital from 6.30-8.30pm
If you are interested in attending any of these workshops and would like further information please contact us via:
Tel: 07143 261183
Email: future@sath.nhs.uk
Once we have confirmation of numbers we will be able to confirm the venue of these workshops.
