24/01/14 - Women and Children's Workshop

A workshop was held at Princess Royal Hospital in Telford earlier this month to focus on Communications and Engagement around the new Women and Children's Unit being built at the hospital.

The main focus of the event was to look at who will access the services, how they will find out about the services and how they will access them. The workshop then asked attendees, including staff, partner agencies and members of the public, to help determine what actions we as a Trust will need to make to ensure they know about the changes when the unit opens in September.

This report provides an overview of the event and some of the ideas so far.

Young People asked to help Mayor's 'Caring For Our Future' appeal

Schools and colleges across Telford & Wrekin, Shropshire and mid Wales are being sent information on how they can support the Mayor of Telford & Wrekin Council, Councillor Guy’s ‘Caring For Our Future’ charity appeal. The appeal aims to raise money for a garden room within the new Women and Children’s Unit, which will open at the Princess Royal Hospital in summer 2014. The room will link the children’s inpatient services to the outside space and provide a fun, learning and hi-tech environment for children, young people and families.

The information packs include facts and figures about the new Women and Children’s Unit, ideas on how to raise money for the appeal and details of an art competition which has been launched to design artwork which will be displayed in the new garden room.

You can download an information pack here
