Quality is our highest priority
The highest priority for The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is to continue to improve the quality of the services we provide for our patients:
- We are improving safety by making major progress to tackle healthcare associated infections such as MRSA and C diff. For example, we have recently extended our screening for MRSA
- We are improving effectiveness by making sure that the outcomes of care we provide are amongst the best in the region. Our Hospital Standardised Mortality Ratio is significantly better than England averages. We aim to build on this so that you can continue to be proud of your local health services.
- We are improving patient experience through our focus on dignity in care. For example, during 2009 we are putting in place a £650k programme to continue to improve single sex accommodation. 92% of patients rated their care as good or excellent In the most recent annual survey of hospital inpatients.
The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust aims to become an NHS Foundation Trust. Becoming an NHS Foundation Trust will make us more accountable to you. It will help us to focus on the issues that are important to the people that we serve.
