The Library Service has created a series of 'Knowledge Centres' geared towards the information needs of the Clinical Centres within Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust.

Each centre provides subject pages offering the latest articles from relevant journals and news, for example from professional bodies. Most of the centres also offer email subscriptions for their topics.

About the Knowledge Centre platform

The Knowledge Centres are built using Netvibes, a freely accessible platform that allows for the creation of personal 'dashboards' as well as public 'Universes' that can combine information resources in one place and is particularly suitable for RSS feeds from many sources, such as journals.

You can create your own Netvibes page, and copy boxes ('widgets') from our pages to yours using the 'Share' links.

Our service has been nationally recognised as innovative, and a number of other health library services have benefitted from our experience in setting up similar services. To assist with this, we have developed a wiki with information about using the various tools, and ideas for sources to use.
