Celebrating NHS Staff
20 January 2012
A frequent feature of the letters we receive from patients is that “people working in the NHS do not always get the thanks and credit they deserve”. Let us know thoughts using our website feedback form.
Sometimes it is all too easy to focus on the negative headlines when things go wrong, rather than the thousands of acts of care and kindness that happen every day in our hospitals.
So, we are looking for your help to celebrate the fantastic work of health service staff.
- What are the actions, behaviours and values that we should be celebrating as a Trust?
- What should we do to thank and reward people who live up to these values, and those who do the things that are important for you our patients?
- Do you know people who can help us do this—for example, by donating prizes or offering sponsorship so that we can do more to reward staff?
- Do you know people in our hospitals who deserve special recognition—if so, let us know so that we can make sure that we celebrating the hard work of people who have made a positive difference for you and your loved ones?
We currently have a range of ways that we celebrate staff.
- Our Chairman's Award is based on recommendations from patients and colleagues. It is presented at our Trust Board meetings each month.
- Our annual Trust Awards highlight individuals and teams who are Making Change Happen for patients and colleagues.
