Non-Executive Director Dennis Jones reappointed to the Trust Board
01 December 2011
The Appointments Commission has announced the reappointment of Dennis Jones as a non-executive director of The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust.
Mr Jones, from Wem, has been a non-executive director of the Trust since 01 October 2007, and has been reappointed to serve a further four years to 30 November 2015.
Following the announcement of his appointment, Mr Dennis Jones said:
"I am pleased to have been offered the chance to serve a second period of four years as a non-executive director of the Trust. This period will be one of substantial challenge as we seek to implement the reconfiguration of some of our services and secure Foundation Trust status, in addition to continuing to meet the ongoing challenges involved in maintaining the high standards of care provided to patients via the two hospital sites.
“I hope to be able to continue making a positive contribution to the Trust Board's work in respect of these challenges, building on my existing four year experience on the Board, including serving as its Chair of the Audit Committee, and bringing to the Board my own senior management experience from my professional career outside of the NHS."
Dr John Davies, Chairman of The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust, said:
“I am really pleased that Dennis Jones has been reappointed to the Trust Board. Dennis currently serves as Chairman of the Audit Committee and in this role will play an important part in helping us to continue to strengthen our finances, and shape the future of our services for our patients.”
