The Ophthalmology Department in Shropshire works across the County, with outpatient departments in the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, Princess Royal Hospital, Telford and Wrekin Community Clinic, Telford.  We also provide outreach clinics in Market Drayton, Whitchurch, Newtown and Welshpool.

The Wrekin Community Clinic (pictured right) opened in January 2011, offering state-of-the-art surgical facilities in a community setting. Find out more in our case study article.

Ophthalmology Day case surgery is performed at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital Day Unit and at the  Princess Royal Hospital Day Surgery Unit. Some Cataract Surgery is performed at the Wrekin Community Clinic in Telford. We have an Ophthalmology inpatient service based in the Head & Neck Centre, next to the main Accident & Emergency at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
