Orthopaedics (Musculoskeletal) Services - About Us
Welcome to the Shropshire Orthopaedic (MSK) Centre - a team of dedicated and specialist healthcare professionals who provide a wide range of Orthopaedic treatments and operations. Services are provided at both the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals, as well as outreach Orthopaedic Clinics run at several locations across Shropshire. We treat many patients who live outside the County in the West Midlands as well as North and Central Wales (specifically Powys).
We provide Orthopaedic Trauma services and Fracture Clinics for a wide range of bone injuries, including fractured Neck of Femur. We also provide a wide range of orthopaedic operations including Hip Replacement, Knee Replacement, Complex Hip revision surgery. Shoulder replacement/surgery - including rotator cuff repair, upper limb surgery such as Carpal Tunnel and Dupuytrens repair, and a wide range of foot and ankle surgery such as achilles tendon repair and bunion surgery. Many patients also require diagnostic or therapeutic Arthroscopy procedures, many of which are performed as a daycase admission in our Day Surgery Department.

The Orthopaedic Department at the Princess Royal Hospital, Telford uses the system of enhanced recovery for all planned hip and knee replacements.
