Phlebotomy (Blood Tests)
A Blood test service is provided by the Phlebotomy departments at both our hospitals. You can either book an appointment at your GP surgery or you can attend a drop-in session. To find out more about where and when blood tests are available please click on your hospital from the list below.
Princess Royal Hospital Phlebotomy department (blood tests)
The Princess Royal Hospital Blood Test (Phlebotomy) Team provides a Blood Test service at many GP practices throughout Shropshire. Some children like to have anaesthetic cream applied before their blood test. This must be prescribed and applied by their GP before they come for the blood test.
If you need a blood test you can either book an appointment at your GP surgery or you can attend a drop in session at the Princess Royal Hospital.
Drop-in Blood Test open hours:
- 8.00am - 9.00am Weekdays. Fasting patients only
- 9.00am - 4.00pm Weekdays
- No Appointment required
We are extremley busy between 9am & 11am. Please try and come after 11am unless you are attending for a fasting test
- Please note that GP patients attending for a blood test will not be entitled to re-bursement of travel or car parking costs
