The Shrewsbury Renal Unit (SRU)

The Shrewsbury Renal Unit (SRU) offers a full range of dialysis treatments for the population of Shropshire and Mid Wales and is situated at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. It currently treats upto 120 patients with both acute and chronic renal failure and is the base for haemodialysis treatment and the centre for administration, community, supervision and home haemodialysis.

The Telford Renal Unit (TRU)

The Telford Renal Unit (TRU) offers a limited range of dialysis treatments and is situated on at the Princess Royal Hospital. It currently dialyses upto 100 patients

Ward 7 Nephrology and Endocrinology is also located at Telford.

Ludlow Satellite Dialysis Unit

The Dialysis Unit is situated in the Community Hospital near Ludlow town centre. The unit has the facilities to dialyse ten patients daily with the ability to take holiday patients from throughout the country all year round. More information is available on the Ludlow Satelite Dialysis Unit page.

The Peritoneal Dialysis (PD)

The Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) training and community programme is organised and run from a PD suite on the Nephrology ward (Ward 23N)at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. The SRU also provides an acute extra corporeal therapy programme, including plasmapheresis for patients within The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust.
