Endocrinology

Welcome to the Endocrinology services homepage.

The Endocrinology Department deals with problems of the endocrine glands such as pituitary, thyroid, adrenal, gonads (testes / ovaries) and their secretions (hormones). Patients with problems related to these glands are clinically evaluated along with blood tests and scans. Most clinical problems are dealt with medically and if surgery is indicated and agreed, we refer locally or to the tertiary centre at Stoke on Trent for pituitary surgery. Patients are usually referred back to us for ongoing hormonal tests, scans and further management.
