Ward 10 Frail and Complex

Welcome to Ward 10 Frail and Complex

The Unit provides a facility for assessing and treating emergency medical frail elderly patients who are admitted to hospital via their GP or are referred from A&E. Ward 10 specialises in the care of older patients who typically have multiple medical conditions and often require specialist support at home or in care homes.

The Ward consists of 28 beds for both male and female patients.

We have a medical team which consists of Dr Nigel Mike, Frail and Complex Consultant and a Locum Consultant.

The Ward team consists of a Ward Manager, two Ward Sisters and a team of Registered Nurses, Nurse Associates, Health Care Assistants, Ward Clerk and Housekeeper who are passionate about the speciality and place the needs of the patients first. We work very closely with therapists, including Occupational, Physio, Speech and Language and Dieticians for the benefit of our patients.

The Ward doctors and nurses should be able to answer any questions you have during your stay, especially during the working day when the regular team is on the ward. If you are worried about a relative or friend who is unable to speak for themselves, please talk to the ward staff. If they are unable to answer your query, ask to talk with the ward sister or consultant who will do their best to meet with you.

If you are admitted to one of our hospitals and would like some guidance about your stay, please visit our staying with us page.
