Each week includes presentations, videos and interactive sessions and will be followed up with additional information that you might find useful.
Every care is taken to ensure accessibility, and a comfort break is built in after 55 minutes. If you have any other requirements, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate them
Week 1 – The NHS
In Week 1 you will learn about NHS structure, funding and how our hospital fits into the local Integrated Care System.
Week 2 – Our Hospitals
In Week 2 Julia Clarke, Director of Public Participation, will talk to you about The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust and our 2 hospital sites: Princess Royal Hospital in Telford, and the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. There will be presentations from our Hospital Transformation, Service Improvement and Workforce teams
Week 3 – Our Population
In Week 3, we look at the health profile of the population living in the areas served by our hospitals, and explain why the NHS is particularly keen to reduce Health Inequalities. We will look at the way our staff care for patients living with Dementia in our hospitals and hear from our End of Life team
Week 4 – How to #GetInvolved
In Week 4, you will hear from the Patient Experience team, our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS), our Volunteering team and find out how you can continue to be involved with our Trust.
On completing all 4 weeks of the People’s Academy, we will send out your certificate of attendance and your exclusive People’s Academy pin badge.
