Volunteer Induction

Thank you for applying to become a volunteer at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust. Part of your training prior to starting your volunteer placement is to watch the Volunteer Induction Presentation and complete a short assessment at the end.

    Volunteer Questions

    Please read the statements below and indicate whether they are true or false. Once you have answered all the questions please click Submit.

    1) An intermittent alarm (starts, stops, starts, stops) means there is an incident in an adjacent area.

    2) The three elements required for a fire to occur are fuel, heat and oxygen.

    3) You should always lock your PC when you walk away from your work station so that no one else can access it.

    4) As a volunteer you are also responsible for keeping information secure and confidential.

    5) You should always ensure that you wash your hands before and after patient contact, before handling food, after any potential risk of contamination and after using the toilet or escorting a patient to the toilet.

    6) The Trust has its own local guidance and procedures relating to Adult Protection and these can be found on the intranet.

    7) A child is anyone under 18 years old and includes the unborn child as well.

    8) All food handlers have a legal obligation to ensure food is kept safe to eat and failure to do so can result in prosecution both of the organisation and the individual.
