The Young People’s Academy is a free one-day course. It has been developed for young people aged 14 – 25 who are considering a career in the NHS, or who simply want to find out more about their local hospitals.
The day includes presentations, videos, and two interactive sessions (previous sessions have included Dementia Friends Awareness and British Sign Language, first aid, suturing, St. John Ambulance, and Sighted Guiding). You will find out about how the NHS works, the huge choice of careers available in the NHS and how you can get involved with the Trust through fundraising or volunteering.
Everyone completing the course will receive a certificate of attendance and a pin badge, as well as evidence for their CV or university application.
