A couple raised £750 for RSH’s Colorectal Department at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital after asking guests to make donations rather than give gifts at their 50th wedding anniversary celebrations.

Former patient Jonathan Mills and his wife Ann held two parties – one for family and another for friends – at Mellington Hall, Church Stoke.

Mrs Mills said: “We wanted to give a little bit back. The Colorectal Department provided an excellent service and looked after Jonathan really well. We didn’t want any presents and it is nice to give positive feedback to the hospital.”
The couple from Llandrinio, came into the hospital to present Kirsten McArdle, Colorectal Consultant, and Julie Powell, Colorectal Clinical Nurse Specialist, with the cheque.
