An update from Shropshire Council – Temporary lights on Mytton Oak Road, Shrewsbury for cabling work

Monday 26 January 

We have been made aware by Shropshire Council that from Monday 2 February to Friday 20 March [2026] there will be temporary traffic lights in place on Mytton Oak Road as part of construction of a new housing development on land adjacent to Oak Lane. The work is required to provide the power supply for the new Shropshire Homes housing development off Mytton Oak Road.

During the works, please plan your journey to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital accordingly, allowing for extra time and where possible use alternative routes in and out of Shrewsbury.

Patients and visitors are also encouraged to use the Park & Ride service, which runs every 15/20 minutes from the car park at Oxon Park & Ride to the Treatment Centre.
