Emergency Department entrance change for walk-in patients at RSH

From 8am on Wednesday 29 July, the entrance for patients walking into the Emergency Department (ED) at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital will change.

If you are attending ED as a walk-in patient, please use the newly constructed entrance on the left-hand side of the ED building, accessed via the road leading to the department. Clear signage will direct you to the new entrance.

After entering the building, follow the clearly signposted corridor to the ED reception and waiting area, where you will be checked in.

If you are arriving by ambulance, there is no change. Ambulances will continue to use the existing ED ambulance entrance.

These changes are part of the ongoing redevelopment of the Emergency Department, which is due for completion in 2027. This multi-million-pound investment will provide high-quality, sustainable emergency care and help reduce delays for patients across the region.
