To mark World Day for Cultural Diversity 2025, the Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin Integrated Care System has launched Everyone Belongs Here – a bold new campaign that celebrates the richness and diversity of our workforce and communities.

Created collaboratively by colleagues across the NHS, local authorities and care partners, the campaign shares a clear message: We’re all different. We’re all unique. Everyone belongs here.

Discrimination in any form has no place in our services. Everyone Belongs Here is grounded in our shared values of respect, compassion and inclusion. Whether you work in frontline care, support services or leadership, your voice, experiences and identity matter.

Vanessa Whatley, Chief Nursing Officer and Executive Lead for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) for NHS STW said: “Everyone Belongs Here is grounded in our values. It champions kindness, celebrates difference, and recognises the vital role every member of our team plays. We are proud to have a workforce that spans cultures, backgrounds and experiences — each bringing unique perspectives that enrich the care we provide every day. This campaign is about making sure everyone feels seen, valued and protected, now and always.”

Rhia Boyode, Chief People Officer for The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust (SaTH) and Shropshire Community NHS Trust (Shropcom) added: “Our people are at the heart of everything we do. They answer phones, serve meals, deliver care, lead teams – and they do so with unwavering dedication. Every day, staff of all backgrounds show up to care for others. That’s what makes our health and care system so strong.

“We stand united in the belief that diversity is our strength. Every individual -regardless of race, gender, religion, disability, sexual orientation or background -deserves to be treated with respect, dignity and fairness. We hope this campaign will create a meaningful and lasting impact – not just for our staff, but also for patients and the wider public.”

This campaign isn’t limited to a single awareness day, week or month. It’s about making inclusion a lasting part of our everyday culture.

To help shape and launch the campaign, we set ourselves a 90-day challenge – to stay focused, energised and aligned. This timeframe provided us with the momentum to come together, collaborate and create something meaningful that reflects our shared commitment.

Join us in bringing Everyone Belongs Here to life – because when we work together, we create environments where everyone is respected and valued.
