Professor Jason Kasraie, Head of Fertility Services at the Shropshire and Mid Wales Fertility Centre, has been appointed President of the Association of Reproductive and Clinical Scientists (ARCS).
Jason, who will serve a three-year term, brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the role, with a focus on supporting ARCS members and assisting and guiding the Executive Committee in their activities. Professor Jason Kasraie will take over as President from Jane Blower.
Jason is the Head of Fertility Services, Consultant Embryologist, and Andrologist at the Shropshire and Mid Wales Fertility Centre, part of The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust (SaTH).
In addition to his clinical role, he serves as the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA) Person Responsible and as a visiting professor at the University of Chester/University Centre Shrewsbury.
Jason’s appointment is particularly fitting given his key role as the founding Chair of ARCS, where he played a pivotal part in guiding ARCS through the transition from individual societies to the unified body it is today. His leadership during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic also cemented his reputation within the profession.
Jason said: “I am honoured to be appointed President of ARCS and to represent a community of scientists whose work is so central to improving patient care and outcomes in assisted conception. ARCS has played a vital role in supporting collaboration, professional development and high standards across our specialty, and I am committed to building on that strong foundation.
“Having been involved in the organisation’s journey over many years, including its transition to a unified body and through the challenges of the pandemic, I am excited to work with the Executive Committee and members to continue strengthening the voice of reproductive and clinical scientists and supporting them in their essential work.”
Dr Rachel Gregoire, Chair of ARCS, said: “Jason’s extensive experience and commitment to the field will be invaluable as we continue to support our members and grow as an organisation.”
