The Trust is preparing the PRH site to start work on a solar panel car park canopy – following funding received from Great British Energy. This investment will save the Trust £70,000 a year in energy costs and generate clean power and aligns to the long-term vision of sustainable health services and more modern facilities, creating a better environment for patients and staff.
Please be aware that from 6pm on Friday 23 January the top deck of the car park near the Women and Children’s centre will close for initial works. It is necessary to close the entire top deck to complete this phase. To keep disruption to a minimum, work will take place over the weekend when there are fewer staff and visitors on site.
Work will then take place in phases from Monday 26 January – throughout the course of installation different sections of the car park will be closed. Once work is complete in March and the canopy has been installed, all spaces will be reinstated on the top deck car park. Please be aware that GroupNexus will be marshalling the car park throughout the works to ensure deliveries for construction can be made safely.
To support this work and help offset the spaces temporarily lost, the Trust is creating additional gravel spaces near the Ironbridge Suite. All spaces will be complete by the beginning of February, with some being available by the end of January.
