The award finalists for the NHS Group, which provides acute and community healthcare in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, have been revealed and the vote for your healthcare hero is now open.

Members of the public had the chance earlier this summer to nominate their hospital hero for a special award. The Public Recognition Award recognises teams or individuals who have made a remarkable contribution and show exceptional compassion and dedication in their role.

Four finalists have been shortlisted, and it is now over to the public to choose their winner.

It is the first year that the NHS Group – the agreed alliance between Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust (ShropCom) and The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust (SaTH) – has come together to celebrate its first awards evening.

Jo Williams, Group Chief Executive, said: “The Moving to Excellence Awards celebrate the outstanding dedication and commitment of our colleagues and teams, and the truly wonderful work that they do every day in our hospitals and the wider community.

“Thank you for your fantastic nominations for the Public Recognition Award, which is the most special of all as the winner will be voted for, by our patients and members of our community.

“It was great to see the brilliant teams and individuals you nominated. The judges then had the difficult task of choosing just four finalists. The final decision lies with our communities.

“I’d like to extend a special thank you to our incredible sponsors who have made our awards possible: CPW, Edmond Shipway, Group Nexus, Key Construction, ModuleCo, OneRetail, SoftCat, SCC/HPE, System C and VINCI Building (part of the joint venture IHP).”
