About Health – Diabetes Footcare

Online – Thursday 12 November 2026, 18:30 – 19:30

Shropshire, particularly the Telford area, experiences higher-than-average rates of diabetes-related lower limb amputations. With good footcare routine and regular diabetes foot screening, it may be possible to prevent as many as 80% of these often avoidable amputations.

Nicky Beard, Podiatry Diabetes Lead at SaTH, joins us to talk about feet and foot care for people with diabetes.

There will be opportunity to ask general questions during this session, but please be aware that Nicky will be unable to give advice on individual care.

The session will be recorded and available to view afterwards on our website.

Hospitals Update

We are delighted to bring you a monthly update from our Trust within days of it being delivered to our staff.

The Hospital Update is delivered by a senior member of Trust staff, and there will be opportunity to ask questions.

Meetings are held online using Microsoft Teams – joining information is held within the Eventbrite listing and will also be sent out by email in advance.  If you prefer not to use Eventbrite, please email sath.engagement@nhs.net and we will be happy to send you joining details in advance of the meeting.

About Health – Palliative and End of Life Care

As part of National Grief Awareness Week, join us for an online About Health session exploring Palliative and End of Life Care at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust and Shropshire Community Health Trust.

During this one-hour event, Dr Emma Corbett and members of the specialist team will provide an overview of the service, explain how they support patients and families, and discuss the important role of palliative and end of life care in our hospitals and communities.

The session aims to encourage open and compassionate conversations about serious illness, dying, death and bereavement, themes that are at the heart of Grief Awareness Week. Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions and take part in a discussion with the team.

Whether you have a personal interest, care for a loved one, work in health and care, or would simply like to learn more about the support available, everyone is welcome.
