Volunteers who are passionate about healthcare are encouraged to join an award-winning patient panel at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust (SaTH).

The Trust’s Clinical Audit Patient Panel, which was established in 2013 and has won a national award from the Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership, is inviting people to apply for a role.

Examples of where Clinical Audit Projects have helped improve care for patients at SaTH, which runs the Princess Royal Hospital (PRH) in Telford and the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital (RSH), include the ongoing monitoring of hand-hygiene on the wards and the introduction of a system for ensuring all patients are assessed for risk of blood clots.

Sally Allen, Clinical Governance Manager at SaTH, said: “The panel carries out projects with support from the clinical audit team and assist with the Trust’s clinical audit projects.

“There will also be the opportunity to be included in all aspects of the clinical audit process, anything from data collection and analysis from presenting the results of the audit.”

The role is unpaid, but travelling expenses will be reimbursed.  Full training and support is provided.  For further information, and an application form, please e-mail Jane.burgess3@.nhs.net or telephone Jane Burgess, on 01743 261000 (extension 3392).
