Kate Ballinger, Community Engagement Facilitator, talking about The People’s Academy

If you are considering a career or just interested in the NHS, The People’s Academy is holding a free online course – the next course starts on Thursday 8 September.

Made up of four 2-hour sessions over four weeks, this free online course covers:

  • The NHS – find out how the NHS works across England and who makes decisions about how healthcare is provided in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and mid-Wales.
  • Our hospitals – meet the Director of Public Participation and teams from across our hospitals. There is plenty of opportunity to ask questions and find out more about the things that interest you!
  • Our Population – we look at the population across Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and mid-Wales to understand how we care for our patients. You will also meet nurses from our Dementia and End of Life teams and will have opportunity to stay online to complete a Dementia Friends Awareness session.
  • How to #GetInvolved – meet leads from the Patient Experience, PALS and Complaints and Volunteer teams and find out how individuals can make a difference in our hospitals.

Everyone completing the course receives a certificate of attendance and an exclusive People’s Academy pin badge.

The next course starts at 10am on Thursday (8 September) and a further course is planned to start on Thursday 3 November.
