The following message is from our colleagues at Telford & Wrekin Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG)

A new health campaign has been launched by Telford & Wrekin Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) to support people to ‘take the fast track to the right care’.

The campaign, which uses the slogan ‘take care Telford’, aims to remind people that the fastest way to getting the right healthcare advice and support they need is often by calling NHS111, vising their local pharmacy or seeing their GP.

Dr Jo Leahy, Chair for Telford and Wrekin CCG, said: “People are often unclear and confused about the different services that are available to them and which service they should use when they are feeling ill. If you are unsure you can call NHS111 from the comfort of your own home for free. They have a team of trained staff, including nurses, who will be able to advise you 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week, 365-days-a-year. Your local pharmacist is more than qualified to offer you healthcare support, advice and over the counter treatment and your GP can also help with a range of health problems including minor injuries.”

A range of public information has been produced for the campaign including leaflets, posters and Facebook advertising as well as a series of outdoor events to ensure local people know where the ‘fast track’ is to the care they need.
