People across Telford & Wrekin are being given a chance to have their say on cancer services in the area.
An online survey which has gone live today gives everyone a chance to say what works well, what doesn’t, and how things could change for the better.
The survey follows a successful event held in Oakengates in March which was attended by over 60 people.
Dr Jo Leahy, Telford & Wrekin CCG’s Chair said: “We want to hear from anyone who has experience of using our cancer services either as a patient, family member or carer. We would also welcome the views of volunteers whose activity relates to cancer.
“We want to hear about the whole cancer experience, from ideas about how we can involve more people in screening programmes and early detection, through treatment, and helping patients to recover following treatment. We also want to hear about end-of-life planning and care.
“By listening to those views we can help plan for better outcomes and improve the lives of all people affected by cancer.”
The survey will ask people which local services and support they are aware of and have used, where they go to for information, and to suggest how things could be improved.
Dr Leahy said: “The March event was a valuable start but now we want to hear from as many people as possible, including those in Shropshire.”
The organisations working together locally to improve cancer services include Telford & Wrekin and Shropshire CCGs, Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals (SaTH), Telford & Wrekin Council, Shropshire Council, Macmillan Cancer Support, Cancer Research UK and the Lingen Davies Cancer Fund for Shropshire, Telford and Mid Wales.
The survey can be found on The Telford & Wrekin CCG website. It will be online until Friday June 15.
