SaTH Charity, which aims to make a difference to patients and staff at Shropshire’s two acute hospitals, has won a donation of £1,000.
The donation has come from insurance provider Ecclesiastical, which is providing the funding to a number of charities and individuals as part of its 12 Days of Giving Campaign.
SaTH Charity was nominated to win £1,000 in the campaign, which was held between 6-21 December last year. The funds are being distributed by the Charities Trust this month.
Andrew James, on behalf of SaTH Charity, said: “We are incredibly grateful for this donation from Ecclesiastical which will help us make a real difference to patients and staff at our hospitals.”
SaTH Charity is a registered charity for the Royal Shrewsbury and Princess Royal hospitals, which are run by The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust (SaTH). It helps to fund equipment, patient comforts and staff education and research, which go above and beyond the funded services provided by the NHS.
Most of the hospital wards, departments and community healthcare services have dedicated funds within the charity, which means that donors can support the specific areas of the hospitals that are closest to their heart.
