19 September 2018

The finalists in SaTH’s 2018 Values in Practice (VIP) Awards have been announced.

This year’s awards will not only celebrate the achievements of the Trust’s wonderful staff and volunteers, but will also continue the celebrations for the 70th anniversary of the NHS. The awards ceremony will take place on 28 September in one of the aircraft hangars at RAF Cosford.

Awards will be presented in nine categories:

  • Patient Experience Award
  • Behind the Scenes Award
  • Rising Star Award
  • Team of the Year
  • Volunteer of the Year
  • Improvement of the Year
  • Inspirational Leader of the Year
  •  Learner of the Year
  • Annual VIP Award

The VIP Awards will be preceded in the afternoon by SaTH’s annual Long Service Awards, for individuals marking 25 or 40 years service with the NHS, which will include a special NHS70 cake.

This year’s awards are the biggest yet with 300 members of staff due to attend the ceremony. With over 500 nominations this year there are more nominations than the previous two years combined.

Simon Wright, Chief Executive, said: “Every day across our hospital, we see remarkable acts from individuals and teams, and this is our small way of saying ‘thank you’. This year, as we mark 70 years of the NHS, it is even more important that we recognise the dedication, devotion and care that our people display in what we all know can be very trying circumstances.

“I am delighted that RAF Cosford have agree to allow us to hold the event in one of their hangers. This fantastic setting, amongst some wonderful historic aircraft, will certainly add to the sense of occasion for all the finalists.”
