The countdown is on to find your healthcare hero in the Annual Moving to Excellence Awards for the NHS Group, which provides acute and community healthcare in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin.
Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust (ShropCom) and The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust (SaTH) are inviting people to nominate teams or individuals who have made a remarkable contribution or have shown exceptional compassion and dedication in their role across our community services, hospitals, and everywhere in between.
The Public Recognition Award is the only category that patients, families and members of the public can nominate and vote for and the deadline has been extended to midnight on Sunday 16 August.
It is a wonderful opportunity to ensure your healthcare heroes receive the recognition they deserve and it means so much to those that work for Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin Community and Hospitals NHS Group.
You can nominate by visiting: Public Recognition Awards nomination form Survey
The nominations will be shortlisted and followed by a public vote, so you can choose your winner.
Jo Williams, Group Chief Executive, said: “This award, the Public Recognition Award, is the most special of all; the winner will be nominated, and voted for, by our patients and members of our community.
“Our colleagues and teams carry out truly wonderful work every day in our hospitals and the wider community. The Moving to Excellence Awards celebrate their outstanding dedication and commitment.”
“It is also the first time we will come together to celebrate our very first awards evening as one Group – a real milestone for us all.
Last year in The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust Annual Celebratory Awards, the Diabetes Team (some of the team pictured receiving their award), were named winners of the Public Recognition Award.
The Diabetes Team nominations read: “I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Dr Probal Moulik whose kindness and dedication to diabetic patients, particularly those on insulin pumps, have made a significant impact. He has successfully established a team that facilitates easy access to care and has created a Facebook group to ensure continuous communication outside of regular hours.
“Thanks to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital for having such a wonderful and dedicated doctor on their team. I believe he truly deserves this award for his exceptional service and commitment to his patients.”
Dr Moulik, Consultant Endocrinologist, said: “It was truly an honour for us to be named winner of the Public Recognition Award. It meant so much to the team and I to receive an award that our patients, families and the community had voted for.
“We put patients at the heart of everything we do and to be recognised for the work we do makes such a difference.”
It is the first year that the NHS Group – the agreed alliance between ShropCom and SaTH – has come together to celebrate its first awards evening.
Sponsors, CPW, Edmond Shipway, Group Nexus, Key Construction, SCC and Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), ModuleCo, OneRetail, SoftCat, System C and VINCI Building (part of the joint venture IHP), have teamed up with the Group to celebrate its staff.
The Annual Moving to Excellence Awards will take place in October 2026.
