Members of the public have the chance to nominate their healthcare hero, as the NHS Group, which provides acute and community healthcare in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, launches its Annual Moving to Excellence Awards.

Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin Community and Hospitals NHS Group is giving people the chance to nominate teams or individuals who have made a remarkable contribution or have shown exceptional compassion and dedication in their role across our community services, hospitals, and everywhere in between, making such a difference to the communities we serve.

The Public Recognition Award is a really special award because nominations are made by members of the public, followed by a public vote to choose the winner. This is a wonderful opportunity to ensure your healthcare heroes receive the recognition they deserve.

The nominations will be shortlisted and followed by a public vote, so you can choose your winner.

It is the first year that the NHS Group – the agreed alliance between Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust (ShropCom) and The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust (SaTH) – has come together to celebrate its first awards evening.

Jo Williams, Group Chief Executive, said: “This year feels incredibly special as we come together to celebrate our very first awards evening as one Group – a real milestone for us all.

“The Moving to Excellence Awards celebrate the outstanding dedication and commitment of our colleagues and teams, and the truly wonderful work that they do every day in our hospitals and the wider community.

“This award, the Public Recognition Award, is the most special of all; the winner will be nominated, and voted for, by our patients and members of our community.

The closing date for nominations is Thursday 6 August. The Annual Moving to Excellence Awards will take place in October 2026.
