The revamped adolescent area at the Children’s Ward.

An area for older children facing a stay in hospital has been given a revamp thanks to students from the National Citizen Service.

The students chose the Children’s Ward at the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford as a project and raised £280 before spending two days working on the outdoor adolescent area, giving it a new paint job and sprucing up the furniture.

Georgia Newsome from the Play Team on the Children’s Ward said: “They worked so hard in the hot weather and did an amazing job, we were extremely impressed with their work ethic and can’t thank them enough.

“Having this beautiful, inviting outdoor area will really make a difference to the older children’s hospital experience.”
