To facilitate social distancing the Drop-In Phlebotomy Service at the Princess Royal Hospital (PRH) in Telford, the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital (RSH), Bridgnorth Community Hospital and Whitchurch Community Hospital will no longer be providing a walk-in service for patients. Please do not turn up without an appointment.

The Phlebotomists based at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital will take blood from children between the ages of 1 and 16. Please note: anaesthetic cream or spray cannot be supplied or applied by the Phlebotomy team.

The Phlebotomists do not take blood from children under 12 months.  Please contact the Children’s Assessment Bay, Ward 31: 01743 261000 x1031 for advice.

If you live in the Telford area, the Donnington Community Services Unit (telephone: 01743 450855) offers a service for children.  If the child is under 18 months old, fasting or needle-phobic then you can contact the Children’s Assessment Unit: 01952 641222 x4248 for advice.
