Inpatients

Ward 23 at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital is the designated Oncology and Haematology ward, with 30 beds in total. The ward provides care and treatment for patients with a diagnosis related to Haematology or Oncology.  Patients may be receiving chemotherapy, radiotherapy, symptom control or palliative care. We also care for those who may be in with treatment related side-effects.  The ward is a friendly, supportive environment with a dedicated day room for patients and their relatives to use, along with access to free television for every patient at their bedside.

Chemotherapy Day Centre

The majority of chemotherapy is undertaken in the Lingen Davies Centre at The Royal Shrewsbury, as this encompasses a bright, modern unit that has 24 seated stations and 2 treatment areas, each designed to suit the needs and comfort patients.

Please note – patients receiving day case outpatient treatment in the unit can claim free parking. To do this, please give your registration details to the desk as you book in for your appointment.

Please be aware that these numbers are only available during office hours (Monday – Friday 9-5).
