Veteran Aware
Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals (SaTH) are signed up with the Armed Forces Covenant, and pledge that no member of the Armed Forces Community should face disadvantage in the provision of public and commercial services compared to any other citizen. As a Trust we are committed to honour the Covenant and support the Armed Forces Community.
There are many additional services that the Armed Forces Community can access to support them as patients. Details of the services are available here. To access the veterans’ mental health transition, intervention and liaison service as a veteran, patients must:
- Be a resident in England
- Have served in the UK armed forces for a full day
- Be registered with a GP practice in England or be willing to register with a GP
- Be able to provide their military service number or another form of acceptable proof of eligibility

The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise that together we acknowledge and understand that those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, should be treated with fairness and respect in the communities, economy, and society they serve with their lives.
