Improvement plans at the Princess Royal Hospital, including four new theatres

2024 will bring exciting opportunities for the Trust, including ongoing investment in Princess Royal Hospital and at Hollinswood House in Telford. These improvements will support us to deliver modern and high-quality care for our patients and will also contribute to our sustainability goals.

This will bring long-term benefits for our patients, visitors and colleagues, but it is inevitable that we will experience some disruption in the meantime. Thank you for your patience as we improve care for all the communities we serve.

Planned Care Hub

Construction is well underway for a new £24 million planned care hub, which will provide more theatres and recovery areas as part of plans to transform patient care at PRH. The new hub will provide day case surgery for patients across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin and mid Wales, supporting communities to receive high quality, elective care all year round. This significant investment will substantially increase the number of day case operations that can take place meaning patients will also benefit from much shorter waiting times.
